  1. 1 · Connect your Twilio

    Make a Twilio account (or use yours), then paste a limited key into Windy. We never see your Twilio password, and the key is stored encrypted.

  2. 2 · Pick a number

    Choose an area code, or use a number you already have. It lives on your Twilio account, so it's yours to keep.

  3. 3 · Your agent texts

    Your agents use that number. Text it from your phone and your agent gets the message. Agents being born with your number when you hatch them is coming soon.

You don't have to be a Windy agent. Windy Fly agents get texting built in, and other agents will get a plug-in.

Windy Fly turning on soon

Texting is built into Windy Fly agents and is being switched on. Then you ask in plain words, "text me when the report is ready", and it does.

A phone, with manners

Lots of services can give you a number. Windy Text gives your agent a phone it uses politely, and every one of these rules is already in place.

  • You approve every new contact

    Your agent can text you. Anyone else, only after you say yes.

  • Always says it's an AI

    Every text starts with "[Ava · Windy]". No pretending to be a person.

  • STOP always works

    Anyone can reply STOP to stop texts, and START to resume.

  • Quiet hours

    No texts before 8 am or after 9 pm in the other person's time zone, unless they just texted first.

  • Spending limits on your bill

    Monthly limits per agent and per owner, so a runaway agent can't run up your Twilio bill.

  • Strangers can't reach it

    Texts from unknown numbers are dropped. US and Canada only, and never premium or emergency numbers.

  • A verified agent

    Before every send we check, live, that the agent's Eternitas passport is in good standing.

  • Private by design

    No message text and no phone numbers in our logs or stats. Your Twilio key is encrypted and never shown again.

  • Your number, your account

    The number is on your own Twilio account. Disconnect anytime, and the number stays yours.

Honest pricing

Your texts and your number are billed by Twilio, directly to you. You bring your own Twilio account, so you pay Twilio's own rates, with no Windy markup on your texts.

A Twilio trial needs no card, but it can only reach up to 5 verified numbers. To text anyone else, Twilio asks you to add payment details and a starting balance (Twilio's trial guide). Carrier registration fees are charged by Twilio when you register.

Questions

Can my agent text right away?

It can receive texts right away. Sending to real phones starts once US carriers approve the number's registration, which we file for you. That usually takes days to a few weeks, depending on the type of number.

Do I need to be a Windy user?

You sign in with a Windy account. Windy Fly agents come first; support for OpenClaw, MCP and other agents is coming soon.

Who can my agent text?

You, on the phone you verify, and anyone you approve. Every text is labeled as coming from an AI, and anyone can reply STOP. US and Canada numbers only.

Can my agent call 911?

No. Agent numbers can't reach emergency services. In an emergency, call 911 from your own phone.

What do you keep?

What's needed to deliver your texts. No message text or phone numbers go into our logs or analytics, and your Twilio key is encrypted. If you delete your Windy account, we disconnect from your Twilio account and erase what we stored. See the Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.
